About the game
Shards of Infinity is a fast deck-building card game in which players gather forces to defeat their adversaries and rebuild the shattered Infinity Engine. Rather than racing for points, players reduce each other's health to zero using cards acquired from a shared central row, echoing the Ascension deck-building lineage. Spending gems to gain mastery makes even starting cards grow more powerful over the course of the game, and reaching thirty mastery lets a player activate a game-ending Infinity Shard. Allies, champions, and mercenaries all add tactical options, with mercenaries usable either as deck additions or immediate one-shot effects. It's a compact, aggressive deckbuilder built for direct player conflict.
Hobbli's Notes
Shards of Infinity packs a satisfying amount of tactical decision-making into a small box and a short playtime, and the direct combat focus gives it more teeth than many deckbuilders. The mastery-scaling mechanic is a clever way to keep early cards relevant deep into the game. Its take-that elements mean it's best for groups who enjoy a bit of direct conflict rather than pure parallel building. A strong pick for fans of quick, punchy deckbuilding duels.
