About the game
Aeon's End: Legacy is a cooperative deckbuilding campaign where breach mages defend the last human city of Gravehold from waves of monstrous Nameless. Unlike typical deckbuilders, discarded cards don't reshuffle automatically, letting you plan the order your deck will draw in. As the legacy campaign unfolds, permanent changes to cards, characters, and the map create a story that's uniquely yours. Variable player powers mean each mage plays very differently from the rest. It stands alone from the base Aeon's End game, so no prior experience is required.
Hobbli's Notes
The persistent, evolving nature of a legacy campaign gives this deckbuilder real staying power: choices in one session echo into the next. The discard-pile mechanic is a genuinely smart twist that rewards careful sequencing rather than just raw card power. It asks for a committed group willing to play through the campaign together. For deckbuilding and cooperative game fans, this is one of the most engaging legacy experiences available.
What we like
- Innovative deckbuilding twist with predictable draw-pile sequencing.
- Legacy campaign creates a persistent, personalized story.
- Strong cooperative teamwork against scripted enemy patterns.
- Solo mode holds up well for single-player sessions.
Keep in mind
- Legacy format permanently alters and uses up components.
- Steep learning curve for players new to deckbuilders.
- Requires a consistent group across the full campaign.
- Higher difficulty missions can feel punishing.
Who it's for
Great for cooperative and deckbuilding fans aged 14+, in groups of 1-4 committed to playing through a multi-session campaign.
