About the game
Monolith Arena is a fantasy battleground game built on the acclaimed Neuroshima Hex tile-laying combat engine, in which two to four players command one of four distinct factions across a hexagonal battlefield. Players take turns placing tiles to build offensive and defensive formations, activating powerful abilities either when the field fills up or when a player triggers a battle order. A new three-level 'monolith' mechanic lets players secretly set up strategic advantages at the start of the game, tempering the randomness of the tile draw with real player choice. Each faction offers a unique playstyle and set of abilities to master. It's a tense, tactical head-to-head clash dressed in fantasy warfare.
Hobbli's Notes
Fans of Neuroshima Hex will feel right at home here, and the monolith mechanic is a smart addition that gives players more agency over an otherwise luck-driven tile draw. The asymmetric factions offer plenty of replay variety once you've learned the ropes. A strong pick for two-player tactical showdowns in particular.
