About the game
Sorcerer City is a real-time tile-placement game where 1-6 rival wizard architects race to build the best city district over five hectic years. In each two-minute round, players simultaneously place tiles as fast as they can to maximize money, influence, and magic, all while monsters lurk in their growing deck of tiles. Between rounds, you purchase new tiles and rewards to expand your options for the next frantic building phase. The wizard with the most victory points after five years is crowned head wizard.
Hobbli's Notes
Sorcerer City's real-time building phases create a delightfully chaotic energy that's rare in tile-placement games. The looming monster tiles add a clever push-your-luck tension to an otherwise frantic building process. With very low downtime, it's an ideal choice for larger groups who don't want to sit around waiting for turns. A fun, fast-paced alternative for fans of tile-laying games who want something more frenetic.
