About the game

Ticket to Ride: Germany is a standalone entry in the beloved Ticket to Ride series, where players collect train cards to claim routes connecting cities across Germany. Completing secret ticket cards and claiming routes both earn points, while incomplete tickets count against you at game's end. Claiming a route also lets players collect passengers, with bonus points awarded at the end of the game for whoever holds the most of each passenger color. It's an accessible, family-friendly route-building game with an added scoring layer.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli sees this as a great standalone entry point into the Ticket to Ride family, with the added passenger-collection layer giving experienced players a bit more to chew on. It remains just as approachable for newcomers and families as the original game. A reliably fun, easy-to-teach choice for a wide range of groups.

What we like

  • Accessible, well-loved Ticket to Ride formula on a fresh German map.
  • Adds a passenger-scoring layer for extra strategic depth.
  • Easy to teach to new players and families.
  • Standalone box needs no other Ticket to Ride game to play.

Keep in mind

  • Route-claiming can feel swingy if key routes are taken by opponents.
  • Downtime increases with more players.
  • Less thematic immersion beyond the map and route names.

Who it's for

Great for families and casual groups of 2-5, ages 8+, who enjoy accessible route-building games.
