About the game

Tempel des Schreckens sends a party of adventurers into a temple hiding both treasure and traps, with hidden temple guards secretly working to mislead the group. Players take turns trying to deduce who among them is friend or foe, using bluffing and negotiation to steer the group away from, or towards, a dangerous fire trap. Supporting 3 to 10 players in just 15 minutes, it's a rapid-fire hidden-role party game built for larger groups. It reimplements the gameplay of TimeBomb in a new visual setting.

Hobbli's Notes

This is a terrific pick when you need a fast, high-player-count social deduction game: 15 minutes and up to 10 players means everyone gets in on the bluffing without a long time investment. The hidden-guard concept gives it just enough theme to feel more than purely abstract, and rounds move quickly enough to play several in a row. It won't offer the depth of a full-length social deduction game, but as a quick party filler for a crowd, it earns its place.

What we like

  • Supports up to 10 players, ideal for large game nights.
  • Extremely quick 15-minute rounds encourage repeat plays.
  • Hidden-role bluffing creates lively table discussion.
  • Simple rules make it accessible to younger players.

Keep in mind

  • Lighter depth than dedicated social deduction titles.
  • Best enjoyed with a larger, more social group rather than few players.
  • Repeated plays in one sitting may reduce surprise for savvy groups.
