About the game

Mr. Cabbagehead's Garden is a solo-friendly card-drafting puzzle about growing the perfect vegetable garden for the annual Garden Club contest -- if only the tedious neighbors would stop interfering. Players draft vegetable cards and place them onto a shared or personal garden grid, triggering different neighbor interference effects depending on what's planted and where. Managing your supply of bees adds flexibility to your planting choices, and the final layout is scored on both variety and visual arrangement. Originally a print-and-play title, the deluxe edition adds more neighbors, more scoring variety, and full two-player support.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team enjoys the whimsical charm of gardening around nosy neighbors -- it's a lighthearted theme wrapped around a genuinely tight drafting-and-placement puzzle. The bee mechanic is a clever bit of flexibility that helps mitigate bad luck in the draft. Its solo mode is particularly well-tuned, making it a great choice for quiet, contemplative play. A cozy little game that rewards careful spatial planning.

  • Well-tuned solo mode for quiet, contemplative play.
  • Quick twenty-minute playtime fits easily into any schedule.

Keep in mind

  • Two-player and solo focus limits it as a bigger group game.
