About the game

Bandido is a light cooperative card game in which a prisoner is tunneling his way to freedom, and it's up to the players to work together to seal off every escape route. On each turn, players lay tunnel cards from their hands, trying to cap dead ends before the escape network reaches the board's edge. It plays in about 15 minutes and supports solo play, making it an easy pick-up-and-play for any group size. There's no elimination and no downtime-heavy turns, just quick collaborative card-laying. It pairs neatly with its stand-alone sequel, Bandida.

Hobbli's Notes

Bandido is about as approachable as cooperative gaming gets: rules can be taught in under a minute, and a full game rarely overstays its welcome. It's a genuinely useful pocket game for filling five spare minutes with kids or as a light opener before a heavier game. It won't offer much for veteran gamers looking for depth, but that's not really the point. As a quick, no-stress coop filler, it delivers exactly what it promises.

What we like

  • Extremely simple, fast-to-teach rules.
  • Fully cooperative with no player elimination.
  • Very short playtime makes it a great filler.
  • Works well solo or with the whole family.
  • Combines with sequel Bandida for extra variety.

Keep in mind

  • Very little strategic depth for experienced gamers.
  • Outcome can hinge heavily on card draw luck.
  • Limited long-term replayability once patterns are learned.

Who it's for

Perfect for families with young children, casual cooperative gamers, and solo players aged 6 and up.
