About the game

Bunny Kingdom has players leading clans of rabbits across a 100-square kingdom, drafting cards to place warrens, gather resources, and build cities. Settling near lakes, forests, or mountains yields different resources, while secretly recruited lords and masters add end-game value to your holdings. After each of the game's four rounds, connected groups of warrens score points based on the cities and resources they touch. Designed by Richard Garfield, it blends card drafting with simultaneous placement in a charming, whimsical package. It plays with 2 to 4 players in about an hour.

Hobbli's Notes

A surprisingly meaty drafting puzzle hiding behind an adorable rabbit theme. The tension of contiguous scoring keeps every placement decision interesting without ever feeling punishing.

What we like

  • Charming, whimsical art and theme appeal to all ages.
  • Satisfying card-drafting puzzle with real strategic weight.
  • Quick to teach despite its underlying depth.
  • Good balance of luck and planning for varied groups.
  • Scales smoothly across 2 to 4 players.

Keep in mind

  • Simultaneous placement can make board tracking fiddly.
  • Secret objectives can create swingy, hard-to-predict scoring.
  • Limited direct interaction between opponents.
