About the game
Arcadia Quest: Inferno is a standalone expansion to Arcadia Quest that sends rival guilds descending into a fiery abyss. It introduces four new guilds, new hero types like Alchemists and Gladiators, and a branching campaign that shapes the story as you play. Brimstone cards make terrain dangerous to cross, while a new Damnation mechanic tempts heroes with powerful but corrupting weapons. Rescuing and allying with Angels can also influence your path through the campaign.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editorial team enjoys how Inferno expands Arcadia Quest's competitive dungeon-crawling with meaningful new choices, particularly the risk/reward Damnation mechanic. The branching campaign gives replay value beyond the base game's structure. Since this is an expansion, it naturally requires owning Arcadia Quest to play, which limits it to existing fans. We're moderately confident in our assessment here but flag it for review given some uncertainty about how the branching campaign holds up over multiple playthroughs.
What we like
- Branching campaign adds meaningful narrative replayability.
- New guilds and hero types expand strategic options.
- Damnation mechanic adds compelling risk/reward tension.
- Miniatures and dungeon-crawl combat appeal strongly to fans of the base game.
Keep in mind
- Requires owning the base Arcadia Quest game to play.
- PvP guild combat can frustrate players who fall behind early.
- Campaign length may require multiple sessions to fully complete.
Who it's for
Best for existing Arcadia Quest fans aged 13+ in groups of 2-4 who enjoy competitive dungeon-crawling.
