About the game
My Village invites you back to the beloved Village universe as the sole ruler of your own settlement, guiding its people, farms, and fortunes across generations. This standalone title reuses the atmospheric life-time track and village chronicle from the original Village while introducing a fresh dice-driven action system that changes how you plan each turn. Over the course of the game you'll draft resources, manage worker contracts, and race to fulfill your village's destiny before time runs out. Fans of the original Village will recognize its heart, but the new mechanisms give My Village its own distinct rhythm.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editorial team appreciates how My Village manages to feel both familiar and surprising for anyone who has played the original Village. The dice mechanism adds a layer of tension that keeps worker placement fans on their toes without overcomplicating the experience. It's a satisfying mid-heavy Euro that rewards planning while still leaving room for adaptation when the dice don't cooperate. We think it's a strong pick for groups who enjoy thematic worker placement with a bit of unpredictability.
What we like
- Combines familiar Village atmosphere with a fresh dice-driven twist.
- Rewarding worker placement and drafting decisions each round.
- Strong thematic elements like the life-time track and village chronicle.
- Plays well across the full 2-4 player range.
Keep in mind
- The dice mechanism can frustrate players who prefer pure strategy.
- Moderate complexity may not suit newer gamers.
- Long-time Village fans may find some elements feel too similar.
Who it's for
Best suited for experienced board gamers aged 12+ who enjoy medium-heavy worker placement and city-building Euro games in groups of 2-4.
