About the game

Wrath of the Righteous launches players into an epic cooperative card-game campaign where they must travel into the Abyss to stop the demon lord Deskari after the city of Kenabres is destroyed. Choosing from seven character classes, including the arcanist, cavalier, inquisitor, and summoner, players build decks of boons, battle monsters, and grow more powerful as they conquer challenges across the Worldwound Incursion Adventure Deck. Eventually, characters gain mythic power, unlocking new rules and the game's first-ever 20-sided die. With over 500 cards and a deep campaign structure, this base set kicks off a lengthy narrative adventure path. It's a rich, RPG-flavored cooperative deckbuilder for fans of the Pathfinder universe.

Hobbli's Notes

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game does an excellent job of translating tabletop RPG progression into a manageable card-game format, and Wrath of the Righteous' mythic power system is a fun escalation. It's a serious campaign commitment, so it rewards groups willing to return session after session. A great choice for RPG fans who want cooperative depth without a game master.

What we like

  • Deep campaign-driven cooperative card game with real progression.
  • Seven distinct character classes with unique playstyles.
  • Works great solo or with up to four players.
  • Rich fantasy theme tied to the Pathfinder RPG setting.
  • Mythic power system adds exciting late-game escalation.

Keep in mind

  • Long-term campaign requires a dedicated group over many sessions.
  • Deck management and card sleeving can be fiddly.
  • Complexity and playtime make it less suited to casual game nights.

Who it's for

Great for cooperative RPG fans ages 13 and up, solo or in groups up to four, ready for a long campaign.
