About the game

Lost Legacy: The Starship is a quick 16-card deduction game for 2-4 players from Love Letter designer Seiji Kanai. Each round you draw and play cards, triggering their effects, while trying to deduce who holds the titular Lost Legacy card, or whether it's hidden away in the Ruins. With only ten minutes of playtime, it's a tight, tense guessing game where a single wrong deduction can cost you the round. Multiple Lost Legacy sets can be combined to support up to six players. It's a perfect light filler for fans of minimalist deduction games.

Hobbli's Notes

If you love Love Letter, this scratches the same itch with a fresh sci-fi coat of paint and a slightly different deduction puzzle at the end. It's short enough to play multiple rounds in a sitting, and the low complexity means it teaches in under a minute. Some may find the reliance on player-elimination-style card play similar enough to Love Letter that it feels redundant if you already own that game.

What we like

  • Extremely quick setup and playtime at just 10 minutes.
  • Clever deduction puzzle despite a tiny 16-card deck.
  • Portable and easy to teach to new players.
  • Scales up to six players by combining sets.

Keep in mind

  • Very light content may feel too simple for serious gamers.
  • Similarity to Love Letter may feel repetitive if you already own it.

Who it's for

Perfect for 2-4 players of almost any age looking for a fast, portable filler game between heavier games or while traveling.
