About the game

Quantum is a space-conquest game where dice serve as your starships, with each die's value determining its speed, combat strength, and role in your growing fleet. Players expand across a modular board, upgrade their forces, and race to build powerful Quantum Cubes that fuel new abilities and victory conditions. The clever twist of low numbers being the toughest ships makes for constant tactical rethinking. It balances light strategy with just enough randomness to keep games lively.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team appreciates how Quantum reframes dice as both movement and combat stats, giving every roll real strategic weight. The tile-based modular board and faction abilities keep replayability high without piling on complexity. It strikes a nice middle ground between a casual space skirmish and a genuine strategy game. Newer players may need a game or two to fully grasp the dice-as-ships concept.

What we like

  • Dice-as-starships is an inventive and elegant core mechanism.
  • Modular board setups keep every game layout different.
  • Faction and player powers add asymmetric variety.
  • Plays quickly for the amount of strategic depth offered.

Keep in mind

  • Some players may find the dice-as-stats abstraction takes getting used to.
  • Combat can feel swingy in smaller player counts.
  • Limited direct theme beyond the sci-fi dressing.
