About the game
SOS Titanic is a cooperative card game recreating the desperate final hours of the RMS Titanic, using a Patience-like solitaire mechanism where cards represent passengers to be arranged and rescued. Playing solo or with a crew of up to five, you draw and move passengers through sinking sections of the ship toward the lifeboats before time runs out. Variable player powers let each crew member contribute differently to the rescue effort. It's a tense, quick (30-minute) cooperative game built around a genuine historical tragedy.
Hobbli's Notes
Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc turn a solitaire card-sorting mechanism into a surprisingly tense cooperative race against the clock. The historical weight of the Titanic sinking gives real emotional stakes to what could otherwise be a dry patience game. It's light enough to teach quickly but delivers real tension in a short session, solo or with a group.
What we like
- Clever solitaire-style card mechanism adapted for cooperative play.
- Genuine tension from the race-against-time sinking-ship theme.
- Fully supports solo play as well as groups up to five.
- Short 30-minute playtime makes it easy to fit in.
Keep in mind
- Historical tragedy theme may feel somber for some groups.
- Card-sorting mechanism can feel repetitive over many plays.
Who it's for
Suited to cooperative-game fans ages 8+ who enjoy quick, tense card games, playable solo or with up to five.
