About the game

Ascension: Storm of Souls is the first major expansion for the popular deck-building game Ascension, set in the chaotic aftermath of the Fallen One Samael's death. With 200 new cards, a new Event card type, and fresh mechanisms, players continue drafting Heroes, Constructs, and Monsters from a shared Center Row to build powerful decks. It functions as a complete standalone game for 1-4 players or combines with other Ascension sets for up to six. The fantasy theme escalates with a world overrun by restless souls and Samael's remaining minions.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team appreciates how Storm of Souls refreshes the core Ascension formula with its new Event cards without overcomplicating the streamlined deck-building it's known for. It works well as a fresh standalone entry, though longtime fans get the most value combining it with earlier sets. A solid pick for deck-building fans who enjoy quick, tactical drafting.
