About the game
Tournay is a card-driven city-building game from the design team behind Troyes, tasking players with rebuilding a medieval city through three classes of citizens: military, religious, and civil. You'll play building cards into a personal 3x3 display, layering new cards over old ones, while using your citizen meeples to draw better cards, activate buildings, or combat looming event cards. Prestige buildings offer big scoring potential but also benefit your rivals once built, adding a clever shared-risk twist. With an expansion built right into the base box, it offers substantial replayability from the start. It's a tightly designed card game full of meaningful combos and city-building satisfaction.
Hobbli's Notes
We appreciate how Tournay channels the tight card-combo design of Troyes into a smaller, faster package. The layering system for building cards is elegant, letting you upgrade your display without excessive fiddliness. The built-in expansion is a generous touch that extends the game's life immediately. A rewarding pick for fans of clever card-driven city builders who don't mind a bit of complexity.
