About the game

Drako: Dragon & Dwarves is an asymmetric two-player duel pitting a trio of dragon-hunting dwarves against a single ferocious young dragon chained in a valley. Each side plays from a unique deck of action cards, deciding whether to bite, breathe fire, and fly as the dragon, or strike with axes, crossbows, and nets as the dwarves. Careful hand management determines whether the dwarves can cripple the dragon's wings and legs before it breaks free, or whether the beast survives long enough to escape. It's a tense, symbol-driven battle where managing your limited hand of cards is the key to victory.

Hobbli's Notes

This is a niche but charming asymmetric skirmish game that packs a lot of tactical texture into a 30-minute playtime. The dragon-versus-dwarves premise is executed with real thematic flair, and the card-driven action system keeps both sides guessing. It's light enough for younger fantasy fans but has enough decision-making to satisfy a quick two-player session.

What we like

  • Asymmetric roles give each player a genuinely different play experience.
  • Quick 30-minute playtime suits a fast session.
  • Card-driven action system keeps hand management central to strategy.
  • Accessible rules make it approachable for younger players.

Keep in mind

  • Limited to exactly two players.
  • Fixed valley setting may reduce long-term variety.
  • Asymmetric balance could favor one side once strategies are mastered.

Who it's for

Suited to two players aged 8 and up who enjoy fast asymmetric duels and fantasy combat themes; a good pick for a parent-and-child or casual gaming pair.
