About the game

Magnum Sal casts players as foremen managing mining teams in the historic Wieliczka salt mine, competing for the title of Royal Steward. Using worker placement and pick-up-and-deliver mechanics across a modular mine board, players extract salt, sell it at market, and fulfill the king's salt orders. Whoever earns the most money from efficient salt extraction wins the game. It supports two to four players over a substantial two-hour session.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editorial team appreciates how Magnum Sal's modular mine board makes each expedition feel physically explorative, which is unusual for a worker-placement game. The historical Polish salt-mining theme is a genuinely distinctive backdrop. It asks for real commitment in both time and rules complexity, but rewards players who enjoy route optimization.
