About the game
Puzzle Strike is a deck (bag)-building game inspired by puzzle-fighting video games, played with cardboard chips instead of cards. Each of the ten playable characters offers a different strategy, and the shared bank of chips changes every game, so no two matches play the same way. Players build their bag by buying chips, aiming to overload opponents with 'crash' chips that force them to discard their whole hand. It's fast, chaotic, and rewards both combo-building and reactive play.
Hobbli's Notes
Puzzle Strike remains a cult favorite for deck-builder fans thanks to its asymmetric characters and clever comeback mechanics. Sirlin's competitive-game pedigree shows in the tight balance between characters, making it a great choice for players who like Dominion-style deckbuilding with more aggression and variable powers. The bag-shaking shuffle mechanic is a fun, tactile touch too.
What we like
- Ten asymmetric characters give high replayability.
- Fast 20-minute playtime keeps games snappy.
- Built-in comeback mechanic keeps trailing players engaged.
- No pre-built decks means an even playing field for new players.
Keep in mind
- Player elimination can end the game early for some.
