About the game
Perudo, also known as Liar's Dice or Dudo, is a classic bluffing game for 2-10 players who each roll five dice hidden under a cup. Players make increasingly bold declarations about how many of a certain value are hidden across all the dice in play, and anyone can challenge a bid they doubt. When challenged, all dice are revealed, and whoever guessed wrong loses dice, with the last player holding any dice declared the winner. Its simple rules and large player capacity make it a natural fit for boisterous, casual groups.
Hobbli's Notes
Perudo is a wonderfully portable bluffing classic, and the escalating bids create real tension even with nothing more than dice and a cup. It scales to large groups better than almost anything else on our shelf, which makes it a great pick for bigger casual gatherings. Player elimination does mean some folks may be sitting out toward the end.
What we like
- Simple rules hide genuinely deep bluffing tension.
- Scales impressively to large groups of up to ten.
- Quick elimination-based rounds keep the pace brisk.
- Portable dice-and-cup format suits casual settings anywhere.
Keep in mind
- Player elimination can leave early losers waiting on the sidelines.
- Heavy luck component limits strategic depth.
- Less rewarding for players who dislike direct confrontation.
Who it's for
Great for large, casual groups aged 8+ who enjoy simple bluffing and probability games; scales up to 10 players.
