About the game
Wizard is a classic trick-taking game for 3-6 players using a deck of Wizards, Jesters, and standard numbered cards. Hand sizes grow each round, and before playing a single card, everyone must bid exactly how many tricks they expect to win. Score big for a perfect bid, but miss it and you lose points for every trick you're off, making every wager a real gamble. Simple rules paired with escalating hands keep the tension high round after round.
Hobbli's Notes
Wizard remains one of the cleanest bidding trick-takers we know, and the escalating hand size keeps the bidding stakes rising naturally as the game goes on. It's easy enough to teach to family groups but has enough bite to satisfy regular card game players. The exact-bid scoring can sting newcomers, so expect a rough first round or two.
What we like

- Classic, well-tested formula with decades of staying power.
- Works well for both family game nights and serious card players.
Keep in mind
- Exact-bid scoring can feel harsh to new players.
