About the game
Galaxy Trucker is a beloved real-time tile-laying game in which players frantically grab spaceship parts to build the sturdiest, best-armed ship they can before time runs out. Once built, ships fly through a gauntlet of pirates, meteor showers, disease outbreaks, and other hazards drawn from a shared event deck, testing whether your hastily assembled craft holds together. Across three rounds with progressively larger ships, players earn credits for deliveries, combat victories, and finishing position: while watching their ships potentially fall apart along the way. It's chaotic, hilarious, and endlessly replayable.
Hobbli's Notes
Few games generate as much table laughter as watching a badly-built ship shed components mid-flight. The real-time building phase is a stroke of genius that turns tile-laying into genuine, giddy panic.
What we like
- Frantic real-time building phase creates constant excitement.
- Highly replayable with varied event decks and ship sizes.
- Accessible and hilarious even for non-gamers.
- Strong sense of building tension as your ship faces hazards.
Keep in mind
- Real-time building can stress players who prefer to think slowly.
- Bad luck can undo careful planning in an instant.
- Less appealing to players who dislike randomness.
Who it's for
Perfect for families and casual groups aged 10+ who enjoy lighthearted chaos; works great with 2-4 players in a fun, low-stakes game night.
