About the game
Shear Panic casts players as shepherds maneuvering flocks of sheep figurines across a shared board to score points in four different fields -- grouping sheep together, staying close to Roger the ram, clustering near the black sheep, or avoiding the shearer's scissors. A timing marker moves through the fields as players spend limited actions, each eliminated once used, with more powerful moves advancing the marker faster. Random Panic Die rolls and full visibility of opponents' remaining actions add tension to this quirky pastoral game for 2-4 players.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team finds Shear Panic delightfully silly -- herding sheep figurines while dodging the shearer is a theme you don't see every day. The shifting scoring fields keep players re-evaluating their positioning throughout the game. Limited actions and visible opponent options create a nice tactical tension despite the light theme. A fun, quirky choice for groups wanting something a bit different from typical abstract games.
