About the game

Take 5 (also known as 6 Nimmt!) is a fast-playing card game for 2 to 10 players where the goal is to score as few points as possible. Players simultaneously reveal number cards that get placed into four rows according to strict ordering rules, and whoever triggers the sixth card in a row collects the penalty points on those cards. With simple rules but surprisingly tense decisions each round, it's a beloved gateway game that scales unusually well across player counts.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team loves how much tension Take 5 packs into a five-minute-to-learn ruleset. The simultaneous card reveal creates a wonderful mix of prediction and dread as you watch your card land in a row about to explode with points. It's one of those rare titles that plays great whether you have three people or a full table of ten. A must-have filler for any collection.

What we like

  • Extremely quick to teach and learn, even for non-gamers.
  • Scales smoothly from small groups to a full table of ten players.
  • Creates genuine tension every round despite simple rules.
  • Fast play time makes it easy to fit in multiple rounds.

Keep in mind

  • Simultaneous card reveal can lead to some luck-of-the-draw frustration.
  • Limited strategic depth compared to heavier card games.

Who it's for

Great for ages 8 and up, from casual family groups to larger party crowds; ideal for groups of 4-10 who want a quick, easy-to-learn game with real bite.
