About the game
Kingdom Crossing sends players scouring the small kingdom of Brightspring to help Queen Beavery build an eighth bridge across the Crystal River, inspired by the classic mathematical puzzle of the Seven Bridges of Königsberg. Players recruit artisans, gather construction resources, and craft decorations while combining engine-building and programming mechanisms to plan efficient routes across the kingdom's regions. A key twist is that no bridge can be crossed twice in the same day, forcing careful route optimization each turn. A solo mode with an Automa opponent and four difficulty levels rounds out the package for players without a full table.
Hobbli's Notes
Kingdom Crossing looks like a clever puzzle box wrapped around a genuinely interesting mathematical premise, and the engine-building-plus-programming combination should appeal to fans of route-optimization Euros. As a brand-new release, it doesn't yet have an established track record, so some caution is warranted before calling it a must-buy. Still, the concept and solo Automa support suggest a thoughtfully designed mid-to-heavy Euro worth watching.
