About the game
In Ethnos 2nd Edition, players compete to become the next Emperor by uniting the twelve Clans of Ethnos and controlling its six regions. Draft cards representing different Clans, each granting a unique special ability, and unleash your gathered bands into regions to build area-majority strength. Choosing which Clan leaders guide your groups shapes your strategy each game, since abilities range wildly from bonus scoring to direct interference with opponents. This updated edition refines the original's rules and adds a full solo mode for 1-6 players.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team loves Ethnos for how much variety its twelve unique Clan abilities bring to a fairly simple area-majority core. Every game feels different depending on which Clans come into play and how players combine their powers, keeping the drafting decisions fresh session after session. Paolo Mori's design is easy to teach yet holds real depth for repeat plays, and the new solo mode broadens its appeal further. A fantasy area-control gem that rewards both new and experienced gamers.
