About the game

Loopin' Louie is a classic real-time dexterity game where a battery-powered plastic plane swings around the table on a rotating boom, and each player uses a lever to knock it away from their own barn of chickens. Miss too often and your chickens get swooped up, eliminating you from the game. Whoever still has chickens remaining when the dust settles wins. It's a frantic, silly race against a spinning toy plane.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editors have a soft spot for this one as a beloved family classic that's stayed fun for decades. Its simplicity is exactly the point, letting young kids compete on equal footing with adults. Sessions are short, loud, and full of laughter. It's a reliable pick whenever a group needs a quick burst of silly energy.

What we like

  • Extremely simple to teach to young children.
  • Fast, frantic real-time action keeps energy high.
  • The spinning plane gimmick is genuinely exciting.
  • Very quick rounds encourage instant replay.

Keep in mind

  • Offers very little strategy for older kids or adults.
  • Outcomes are largely luck and reflex-based.
  • Can feel repetitive after many consecutive plays.

Who it's for

Perfect for young children ages 4 and up playing with family, and great as a quick group energizer for mixed ages.
