About the game

Perspectives is a cooperative deduction game for 2-6 players in which every player secretly holds a piece of the puzzle needed to crack a case, but no one is allowed to look at anyone else's documents. Across three atmospheric mysteries - a museum theft in India, a poisoning tied to a rock band, and gang violence in South America - you cross-reference photographs, reports, and clues purely through conversation. Each case unfolds over four acts, revealing new evidence as the investigation deepens. Designed by Matthew Dunstan and Dave Neale with striking art direction, it's built for groups who like puzzling things out together at the table.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team loves how Perspectives turns a single simple constraint - never seeing your teammates' clues - into a genuinely fresh puzzle engine. The three included cases offer real tonal variety and the communication-limit mechanic forces players to describe evidence carefully, which sparks a lot of good table talk. It rewards patient listening more than flashy logic leaps. It's a satisfying pick for groups who enjoyed Detective or Chronicles of Crime and want a different core mechanism to chew on.

What we like

  • The hidden-information constraint creates a genuinely novel deduction puzzle.
  • Three distinct cases give strong variety within one box.
  • Encourages rich conversation and careful listening among players.
  • Accessible complexity makes it a good entry point into deduction games.

Keep in mind

  • Each case can only be solved once, limiting long-term replay value.
  • Requires a talkative, engaged group to shine.
  • Not ideal for players who dislike verbal deduction under ambiguity.

Who it's for

Great for mystery-loving groups of 2-6, ages 12 and up, who enjoy talking through clues together rather than racing a clock.
