About the game

MicroMacro: Crime City - Showdown is the fourth and final entry in the acclaimed MicroMacro series, a cooperative detective game played across one enormous, richly illustrated city map. Players scan the map to track suspects, uncover evidence, and piece together sixteen brand-new criminal cases from motive to conviction. It's fully standalone, playable without any knowledge of earlier entries in the series. Designed for 1-4 players in about 45 minutes per case, it rewards sharp eyes and creative deduction over dice or cards.

Hobbli's Notes

The MicroMacro series has been a genuine phenomenon, and Showdown closes it out in style with its trademark hand-drawn map and clever mystery design. It's one of the best options on the market for a quiet, cerebral evening of shared detective work, solo or with friends.

What we like

  • Beautifully illustrated map hides intricate, well-crafted crime stories.
  • Fully standalone entry, playable without prior series knowledge.
  • Works equally well solo or in a cooperative group.
  • Rewards careful observation and attention to detail.

Keep in mind

  • Requires good eyesight and table space to view the large map comfortably.
  • Limited replayability once a case has been solved.
  • Less mechanically driven than gamers seeking rules-heavy play may want.

Who it's for

Perfect for mystery and puzzle fans aged 8 and up, playable solo or in a small group around a large table.
