About the game

Boomtown drops players into a gold rush where auctions, dice, and mischievous action cards determine who rises from digger to tycoon. You bid on mining concessions hoping to strike gold veins, angle for mayoral positions to skim profits, and build saloons to cash in on prospectors' winnings. Action cards let you pull off holdups or set off dynamite to disrupt rivals' plans. It's a light, chaotic economic game with plenty of take-that interaction. The Wild West theme and cheeky card names add plenty of humor to the auctions.

Hobbli's Notes

Boomtown is a fun, slightly chaotic auction game where reading the table and timing your bids matters as much as luck. Hobbli's team enjoys the take-that action cards that let players mess with each other's plans, adding a playful edge to the bidding. At just 30 minutes, it's a great light game for groups who enjoy some direct conflict. It won't satisfy players seeking deep strategy, but it's a great crowd-pleaser for casual game nights.
