About the game

Mycelia is a deck-building race game where players start with identical decks and gradually improve them by gaining forest dwellers' support to clear dewdrops from their playing field first. Along the way, players develop new skills and shepherd sacred dewdrops toward the Shrine of Life to win the forest goddess' favor. Double-sided player boards add setup variety across plays. It's a nature-themed deck-builder for one to four players.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editors see this as an accessible, gently themed deck-builder that should appeal to players easing into the genre. The forest and dewdrop framing gives it a calmer feel than combat-focused deck-builders. It's not the deepest option for veteran deck-building fans, but its solo mode and charming presentation are real strengths. A pleasant mid-weight pick for mixed groups.

What we like

  • Accessible deck-building mechanics suited to newer gamers.
  • Charming forest and nature theme with pleasant art.
  • Double-sided player boards add variability between games.
  • Solid built-in solo mode for one player.

Keep in mind

  • Lower complexity may not satisfy veteran deck-builder fans.
  • Race format can feel repetitive across sessions.
  • Limited long-term variety once starting strategies are learned.

Who it's for

Good for newer deck-building fans, families, and solo players looking for a relaxed, nature-themed race game.
