About the game
Bonsai casts players as bonsai masters carefully cultivating a miniature tree through meditation and cultivation actions, drafting tiles and racing to complete goal cards before their rivals. Players place leaf, flower, fruit, and wood tiles onto a growing tree shape, balancing the pursuit of easier goals against holding out for larger scoring opportunities. The gorgeous, zen-like presentation matches its calm but tense tile-placement puzzle. It includes a solo mode with special scenarios and an Emperor Challenge for solitaire players.
Hobbli's Notes
Bonsai's card-driven tile placement gives it a lovely tension between grabbing an achievable goal now and risking waiting for a bigger one later. Hobbli's editors love the calming theme and gorgeous table presence, making it a strong choice for puzzle fans who want something a little more serene than most drafting games.
