About the game

Based on the acclaimed horror comic, Harrow County: The Game of Gothic Conflict is an asymmetric battle between the Protectors trying to save Harrow County's townsfolk and Hester's vengeful family trying to destroy it, with a hidden third faction led by Emmy's twin sister Kammi lurking in the wings. Players activate mason jars to move undead haints across a hex-based board, resolving combat with a unique built-in cube tower. A possible fourth player can even take on the buried witch Hester herself, infecting haints through the game's roots mechanic. It's a thematic, tactical game of territory control and elimination steeped in gothic horror atmosphere.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's editors are drawn to the novel cube-tower combat built right into the box, and the way the asymmetric factions - including the option to play the dead witch herself - create very different play experiences each game. It's a heavier, atmospheric horror title for groups who enjoy asymmetric conflict games with real thematic bite.

What we like

  • Unique built-in cube tower delivers innovative, tactile combat resolution.
  • Strong asymmetric faction design, including a rare fourth 'dead witch' role.
  • Rich gothic horror atmosphere drawn from the acclaimed comic source.
  • Territory control and network-building add real tactical depth.

Keep in mind

  • 90-minute playtime and C-grade commitment make it a bigger ask for casual groups.
  • Asymmetric factions mean some rules overhead learning each side.
  • Niche horror-comic license may be less familiar to general audiences.

Who it's for

Best for horror and thematic-game fans aged 12+ who enjoy asymmetric conflict and territory control in groups of 2-3.
