About the game

Discordia casts players as Roman governors developing early cities along the Rhine while fending off Germanic tribes and courting the favor of Empress Agrippina. Through drafting, dice rolling, and income management, you construct farms, barracks, harbors, and markets, deploying seamen, soldiers, merchants, and farmers to grow your city just right, not too fast, not too slow. A sudden-death ending means the game can conclude early if you impress the Empress ahead of schedule. It's a tense city-building game about balanced, sustainable growth.

Hobbli's Notes

Discordia's balancing act, growing your city at just the right pace to avoid penalties, creates a genuinely interesting tension rarely seen in city-builders. The sudden-death ending keeps every session sharp and unpredictable, since a rival's early success can end the game before you're ready. Its historical Roman frontier setting is a nice change of pace from more common civilization themes.
