About the game
Bruxelles 1893: Belle Époque combines the original Bruxelles 1893 with its Belle Époque expansion in one complete box, casting players as Art Nouveau architects competing to build the most prestigious works in 19th-century Brussels. Through worker placement, bidding, and majority control, players acquire materials, construct buildings, create works of art, and cultivate influential patrons. The modular action board changes which actions are available each turn, and the expansion adds new public figures, blocker tiles, and end-game goals for greater strategic depth. After five rounds, players score based on their architectural achievements, art, patronage, and finances.
Hobbli's Notes
This redesigned edition of Bruxelles 1893 is a rich, mid-heavy euro that rewards efficient worker placement and savvy bidding for majority control. The modular action board keeps every game a little different, since not all actions are available to every player each round. It's a satisfying, thinky economic game for groups who enjoy tight resource management with an elegant historical theme.
