About the game

Skytear Horde is a lane-based card battler where one or two players team up to defend their castle against a horde of monsters controlled entirely by the game. Across six battlefield lanes, players juggle attacking monsters, pillaging minions, and their own dwindling deck, needing to destroy enemies to keep drawing new cards. The game includes three ready-made alliance decks and three horde decks with unique bosses, plus three difficulty levels for beginners and veterans alike. Its quick setup and teardown make it easy to jump into 'just one more' game.

Hobbli's Notes

This scratches the competitive-card-battler itch (think Hearthstone or KeyForge) in a solo or cooperative package, which is a neat trick. The scalable difficulty levels make it approachable while still offering real challenge for veteran deck-battlers.

What we like

  • Strong solo and cooperative modes rare among card battlers.
  • Fast setup and teardown make repeat plays easy.
  • Multiple pre-built decks and difficulty levels add variety.
  • Tense resource management between attacking and defending decks.

Keep in mind

  • Maximum of three players limits group play.
  • Card-battler presentation may feel abstract without miniatures.
  • Deck customization options may overwhelm complete newcomers.

Who it's for

Great for solo players or duos aged 10 and up who enjoy card battlers and deckbuilders.
