About the game
Wings of War: Famous Aces recreates World War I dogfighting using simple card-based movement and combat. Each player controls a historic ace's plane, secretly choosing maneuver cards and revealing them simultaneously to plot dazzling loops, dives, and turns. Fire cards track damage as pilots jockey for a shot at their rivals. This first WWI set includes five famous plane types flown by legendary aces like von Richthofen and Rickenbacker, and combines with other Wings of War sets for bigger dogfights.
Hobbli's Notes
A brilliantly accessible dogfighting game that turns simultaneous card selection into thrilling aerial chess. It's a fantastic gateway wargame, though the elimination format means it can end early for unlucky pilots.
