About the game
Disney Villainous: Despicable Plots lets players take control of three classic Disney villains, Lady Tremaine, the Horned King, and Gaston, each pursuing a unique win condition using their own villain deck and board. On your turn you move your character, take location actions (often by playing cards), and refill your hand, all while unleashing Fate cards to sabotage your opponents' plans. Each villain plays completely differently, so mastering one doesn't guarantee success with another. As part of the larger Villainous series, this set can also be mixed with characters from other Villainous games for even more variety.
Hobbli's Notes
The Villainous series continues to impress with just how differently each character plays; Despicable Plots' trio each demand a distinct strategic approach. The Fate mechanic, where opponents sabotage your board using cards from your own villain's story, is a clever asymmetric twist on take-that games. It's best enjoyed by Disney fans already invested in the theme, and the asymmetry means new players benefit from a rules-explainer at the table. A solid, replayable entry for an already popular family-friendly line.
