About the game
Unmatched: Teen Spirit brings four Marvel characters: Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, and the duo of Cloak and Dagger: into the acclaimed Unmatched fighting card game system. Each hero fights with a unique deck of cards designed to capture their personality and comic-book abilities, using tactical grid movement and no-luck combat resolution. Because every character plays so differently, mastering one deck doesn't guarantee success against the next, keeping matchups constantly fresh. Games run a brisk 40 minutes for two to four players in teams.
Hobbli's Notes
The Unmatched series keeps hitting the sweet spot of easy-to-learn, hard-to-master asymmetric combat, and this Marvel set is a particularly fun mix of powers. A great two-player game night staple that rewards repeated plays as you learn each hero's tricks.
What we like
- Highly asymmetric characters each with unique decks and abilities.
- Tactical movement and no-luck combat rewards skillful play.
- Quick 40-minute matches encourage rematches.
- Marvel-themed heroes add broad, recognizable appeal.
Keep in mind
- Requires learning distinct rules for each new character.
- May not appeal to players who dislike miniature skirmish games.
- Best experienced with all four included heroes rather than just two.
Who it's for
Great for two to four players aged 14+ who enjoy tactical, no-luck combat card games, especially Marvel fans.
