About the game

Tabannusi: Builders of Ur sends players to ancient Mesopotamia to expand the districts of the Great City of Ur. Each turn you take a colored die from a district to fuel a resource, while its value determines which district your worker activates next, creating a satisfying chain of decisions. You'll grow construction sites into buildings, curry favor with the temple, and acquire ships in the port district, all while racing the clock as dice deplete and trigger scoring. It's a richly thematic, mid-heavy Euro of city expansion.

Hobbli's Notes

Tabannusi offers a clever die-drafting mechanism where the value of the die you take shapes your next move, creating a lovely puzzle of timing and planning. Hobbli enjoys the historical Mesopotamian theme paired with genuinely tricky resource management. It's a satisfying pick for Euro fans who like their theme and mechanics tightly intertwined.
