About the game

Khôra: Rise of an Empire puts players at the head of a blossoming Ancient Greek city-state, choosing two of seven possible actions each turn: Philosophy, Legislation, Culture, Trade, Military, Politics, or Development. Actions must align with both your strategy and your dice roll, requiring constant adaptation as you move up Economy, Culture, and Military tracks. Collecting Drachmas, exploring for Knowledge tokens, and capitalizing on Glory all feed into unlocking achievements and scoring points. After nine rounds, the player with the most points is crowned ruler of the greatest empire. It's a strategic city-building euro for 2-4 players.

Hobbli's Notes

Khôra offers a satisfying dice-influenced action-selection system layered over multiple progression tracks, giving players plenty of ways to adapt their strategy each round. The ancient Greek theme adds nice flavor to what's ultimately a tight, track-based euro that rewards careful sequencing of actions.
