About the game

Warp's Edge is a solo bag-building game of frantic space combat, casting you as rookie pilot Taylor Minde fighting through waves of enemies before facing a mothership boss. You'll build up your bag of ability tokens across warps, choosing from four unique starfighters and facing off against one of five alien fleets, each demanding different tactics. The included 28-page choose-your-path storybook, Singularity, adds narrative flavor and customizable setup options. It's designed purely for solo play, with a limited number of warps forcing tough decisions about when to push your luck.

Hobbli's Notes

Warp's Edge is a niche but well-regarded solo game that layers meaningful bag-building choices onto a tense sci-fi combat framework. The pairing of four ships against five bosses gives it real variety for a small box. Being strictly single-player limits its use to solo gaming sessions only, and the narrative flourishes work best if you engage with the included storybook. A solid pick for solo gamers who enjoy deck/bag-building combat puzzles.

What we like

  • Deep replayability from four ships facing five different bosses.
  • Compact, portable box well-suited for solo travel gaming.
  • Bag-building choices create meaningful tactical decisions each warp.
  • Included storybook adds narrative depth to the solo experience.

Keep in mind

  • Strictly single-player, so it can't be played with others.
  • Niche audience may make it a harder recommendation for casual gamers.
  • Some upfront learning needed to understand bag-building interactions.
