About the game
Sluff Off! is a trick-taking card game for 3-5 players built around exact bidding through colored chips instead of a traditional bid track. Players predict how many tricks they'll take in each suit by grabbing chips before play begins, then try to match their predictions exactly as tricks are won. One player can instead take on the role of the Sluffer, feeding unwanted tricks to opponents for a fixed penalty. Mismatched predictions and leftover chips cost points, making careful counting and reading opponents essential.
Hobbli's Notes
Sluff Off! puts a clever spin on classic trick-taking by folding the bidding directly into physical chip-grabbing, which keeps the tension high round after round. The Sluffer role is a nice touch, giving a player a distinct alternate strategy when they'd rather dump tricks than predict them. It's quick to teach to anyone who already knows trick-taking basics, and short rounds make it easy to fit in multiple games. A solid pick for trick-taking fans looking for something a bit different.
