About the game

D.E.I.: Divide et Impera is set in a new ice age that has buried London's ruined skyscrapers under snow, where bands of survivors scavenge for Technologies and Energy cells to trade with the powerful Pure Caste. Players control one of four asymmetric survivor factions, exploring a fully modular, three-dimensional map across street level and rooftops to claim resources and complete escalating missions. New action cards, structures like bridges and elevators, and temporary drone control add layers of tactical depth as the game progresses. Combat and territorial disputes are inevitable as factions compete for the richest loot. It's a richly thematic area-control and exploration game with real production ambition.

Hobbli's Notes

The three-dimensional modular map is a genuinely striking centerpiece, and the asymmetric factions give this post-apocalyptic setting real tactical variety. It's a niche, high-investment title with a lengthy, weighty ruleset that needs a dedicated group to do it justice. We'd point committed area-control fans here rather than casual players.

What we like

  • Richly modular three-dimensional map varies every game.
  • Asymmetric factions provide distinct playstyles.
  • Detailed miniatures add immersion to the post-apocalyptic theme.
  • Escalating missions provide long-term strategic goals.

Keep in mind

  • High commitment and downtime suggest lengthy turns.
  • Complex rules for area control and trading may overwhelm newer gamers.
  • Niche production may limit component and expansion availability.
