About the game

Yukon Airways puts you in the cockpit of a seaplane, transporting passengers - represented by drafted dice - across the wilderness of the Yukon. You'll use ticket cards to fly travelers to different locations, earning money and potential upgrades when a passenger's preferences match the destination. Contracts, hand management, and pickup-and-deliver mechanics combine over the course of a game week. It supports 1 to 4 players, including a solo mode, in about 90 minutes. The most successful pilot at week's end wins.

Hobbli's Notes

Yukon Airways offers a pleasant, thematic take on drafting and delivery mechanics with a distinctive bush-plane setting that's rarely explored in board games. The dice-drafting for passengers is simple to grasp but leaves room for tactical route planning. It's a lesser-known title, so we'd love to see more community plays before forming a firm final verdict on its long-term replay value. Still, the theme and mechanisms are a charming, cozy combination.

What we like

  • Charming seaplane transport theme rarely seen in other games.
  • Accessible drafting and pickup-and-deliver mechanics.
  • Includes a solo mode for flexible solo sessions.
  • Moderate 90-minute playtime suits a relaxed game night.

Keep in mind

  • Relatively obscure title with limited community support.
  • Dice-drafting introduces some luck into passenger assignments.
  • Modest strategic depth compared to heavier euro games.

Who it's for
