About the game
Sword & Sorcery: Ancient Chronicles returns players to the Underreign, controlling immortal heroes awakened to destroy corrupted gods across ominous ruins and exotic cities. Fully cooperative and requiring no game master, it uses modular map tiles, ultra-detailed 32mm miniatures, and a sophisticated combat and magic system to bring a deep narrative campaign to life. Solo or group play both work seamlessly, with the Book of Secrets branching the story down different paths each time. It's a rich, large-scale fantasy adventure compatible with the wider Immortal Souls saga.
Hobbli's Notes
A gorgeous, ambitious cooperative crawler that delivers on scale and narrative depth, though the heavy complexity and long campaign structure mean it's a serious investment best suited to groups already sold on the genre.
What we like
- Stunning 32mm miniatures and modular boards create an immersive table presence.
- No game master needed, keeping every player fully engaged.
- Branching Book of Secrets narrative adds real replay variety.
- Solo and group modes are both fully supported.
Keep in mind
- Very high complexity and long campaign length require major time investment.
- Significant miniature and component overhead for setup and storage.
- Best experienced with prior familiarity with the Sword & Sorcery system.
Who it's for
Best for dedicated cooperative dungeon-crawl fans, ages 12-14 and up, in groups of one to five ready to commit to a long campaign experience.
