About the game
Star Realms: Frontiers is a standalone entry in the fast-paced Star Realms deck-building series, playable solo, cooperatively, or head-to-head, and fully compatible with the original Star Realms and Colony Wars. Using an 80-card trade deck, players acquire ships and bases from a shared trade row to generate Trade and Combat, attacking opponents' Authority until it hits zero. Its streamlined, tactical card-combat system delivers quick, replayable space battles in well under an hour.
Hobbli's Notes
Star Realms remains one of the tightest, most portable deck-builders around, and Frontiers adds welcome solo and co-op scorecards to the formula. A great pickup for fans of the series or anyone wanting a lean sci-fi card battler.
What we like
- Fast, tight gameplay with minimal downtime.
- Supports solo and cooperative play alongside head-to-head.
- Compatible with other Star Realms sets for added variety.
- Compact and travel-friendly.
Keep in mind
- Trade row luck can swing individual games.
- Limited thematic depth beyond ship art and flavor text.
- Can feel repetitive without combining expansions.
Who it's for
Great for sci-fi and card-game fans aged 12+ wanting a quick competitive or solo deck-builder; ideal for two-player duels or solo sessions.
