About the game
EXIT: The Game - Dead Man on the Orient Express is a one-time escape-room puzzle experience where players investigate a murder aboard the famous train. Working together, the group solves a series of puzzles using cards, codes, and physical components, some of which must be folded or cut. Categorized at the series' hard difficulty level, it challenges players to unravel the mystery before the train reaches its destination. Once solved, the puzzle cannot be replayed in the same way.
Hobbli's Notes
This entry in the EXIT series delivers the tactile, ingenious puzzle design the line is known for, wrapped in a fun murder-mystery premise. The hard difficulty rating means it rewards groups who enjoy really wrestling with a puzzle rather than breezing through it. Its single-use nature is the main tradeoff, since the components are consumed in solving the mystery.
What we like
- Clever, tactile puzzles that creatively use physical components.
- Strong cooperative teamwork and communication throughout.
- Immersive murder-mystery theme ties the puzzles together.
- Delivers an escape-room experience without leaving home.
Keep in mind
- Single-use design means there is no replay value once solved.
- Hard difficulty tier may frustrate more casual puzzlers.
- Requires writing on and cutting up components.
Who it's for
Puzzle-loving friends or family who enjoy escape-room experiences, ages 12 and up, best with 2 to 4 players.
