About the game
Skyjo is a simple, fast-playing card game where each player secretly arranges twelve numbered cards face-down, revealing only two at the start. On your turn, you draw from the deck or discard pile and swap it into your hidden grid, trying to minimize your total score by ditching high-value cards and creating matching columns that get discarded entirely. The round ends once someone reveals all their cards, triggering a full reveal and scoring. Play continues across rounds until someone hits 100 points, and the lowest total wins.
Hobbli's Notes
Skyjo has become a modern classic filler thanks to its dead-simple rules and surprisingly tense push-your-luck feel as you decide whether to peek or swap blindly. It plays incredibly fast and scales up to eight players, making it a great pick for large family gatherings or as a quick warm-up game. There's real luck involved in the cards you draw, so competitive gamers may find the outcome too swingy for their taste.
